Question
I am having trouble adding extensions through the Configure add extensions. I thought it was a files permissions problem so I ran the Linux Unix permissions script but still get errors with a subroutine in the installers. Here are the errors for two different extensions:
Subroutine install redefined at /var/www/twiki2/CalendarPlugin_installer.pl line 639.
and
Subroutine install redefined at /var/www/twiki2/CommentPlugin_installer.pl line 940.
I think the extensions are installing mostly ok but am not sure.
Any suggestions?

For what it is worth I also have a home server running Fedora 8 (the other(FC6)is at the office) and I get the same error ... so is it a Fedora problem?

I'm having the same problem: subroutine install redefined. The configuration of my twiki is attached (13 May 2008). I've gotten this problem trying to upgrade
EditTablePlugin (to v4.8.2) and
TinyMCEPlugin (to v16767). Dunno what to do. Please suggest something.

Re: both 'Subroutine install redefined' and 'Can't locate object method "findUser" ', I have the identical problems on
WinXP and virgin Twiki 4.2 & Perl install when installing/upgrading extensions via perl or TWiki's
FindMoreExtensions (Kupu /
TinyMCE / Wysiwyg )
It seems its a generic Release 4.2 issue when updating/installing extensions...

Sign me up as somebody experiencing this subroutine redefined / findUser issue. Fedora 8, plugin tried was
FormQueryPlugin. Tried it in a 4.1.2 TWiki and it worked fine.
Potentially relevant Bug links:
I bumped Item5442 up to Urgent from Normal priority, added a link to this page, and checked 4.2 as a codebase that has seen this issue, based on my personal testing along with others reporting it on this page.

Correction: My edit on Item5442 seemingly timed out, so that page isn't updated anyway. I tried a few times. Anybody else able to link these two pages together, and maybe update the priority?

I finally got the edit to stick now, so Item5442 is updated. Additionally, Item5660 also seems to refer to this issue.

I've got the same problem; TWiki-4.2.3. I'm trying to install the Bibtex plugin, but this has happened with other plugins. I get the 'install redefined' problem when I try to install via the configure command, but the 'finduser not found' problem when I try the installer from the command line.

Some plugins have been packaged with a buggy build script. Try the latest plugin version, or install the plugin manually (see instructions in plugin page).
