Abstract

attached is a script which i anticipate will be but one part of an AutomatedBuild and DailyBuildAndSmokeTest toolchain. it could be integrated in a PluginsInstaller, as well as TWikiUpgradeGuide? and, naturally, a TWikiInstaller.

Discussion

Cool, Will. Did you use the script from PluginsConformanceReport? Or is this a different script? It would be good to combine them into a single report....

it's a different script whose main purpose is to be part of an installer; the "report" is mostly a side effect. PluginsConformanceReport and the like look like they will be useful as i get further into an AutomatedBuild. refactoring is something i'll look into after a complete pipeline and toolchain have been established.

the output of this script (the downloaded plugins) is now used as part of the TWikiOnSourceForge#AutomatedInstallation

checked script into CVSplugins:lib/TWiki/Contrib/TWikiInstallerContrib/bin/download-twiki-plugins.pl

WRT the plugin used: I was referring to the script packaged in the PluginsConformanceReport - that takes any non-hidden zip as long as it is the only one. The TWikiReleaseTrackerPlugin also needs to be in this process as it needs to generate an MD5 index of every file in every plugin: I merged my changes into Crawford's PluginsConformanceReport script, but have disabled it by default.

script generalised to CVSplugins:lib/TWiki/Contrib/TWikiInstallerContrib/bin/download-twiki-extensions.pl

Will, what remains to be done? What is going to be done? Should this be in Dakar or not? Please don't leave me guessing.

-- CrawfordCurrie - 14 Apr 2005

it's "done" in that it works for the TWikiInstallerContrib, athough it would be nice to set it up on a cron job, and upload the results to AutomatedPluginsDownloadConformanceReport. i will probably (eventually) get around to doing that.
