Cairo Release History

A static copy of the CairoReleaseSummary has been taken on 23 Aug 2004. The content has been moved over to TWikiHistory which is TWiki's change log.

ALERT! We need to decide what is considered a major feature. What else should be moved from "Minor New Features and Enhancements" to "Major New Features"?

-- PeterThoeny - 24 Aug 2004

I'd rather not "move" anything. Instead, move the above back to the features table below, replace "Minor" with "Details of", and pull out bullet-points. For example,

  • Automatic upgrade script, and easier first-time installation
  • Attractive new skins, using a standard set of CSS classes, and a browser to help you choose
  • New easier-to-use save options
  • Many improvements to SEARCH
  • Improved support for internationalisation
  • Better topic management screens
  • More pre-installed plugins: CommentPlugin, EditTablePlugin, RenderListPlugin, SlideShowPlugin, SmiliesPlugin, SpreadSheetPlugin, TablePlugin
  • Better support for different authentication methods
  • Display values from forms in the body of topics
  • And many, many more improvements....

OK you convinced me, better to list a major feature summary on top, followed by all the details. The TWikiHistory should be an accurate record of changes, including the contributor names (crediting contributions is important).
