Many edits consist of just adding something to the bottom of a page. If the page is very large then there is a lot of HTTP going over the network. There should be a separate "Append" link which brings up a blank text area, and anything entered gets appended to the bottom of the page. There could be checkboxes to add a horizontal divider or to prepend at the top of the page.

Note that the CommentPlugin already does this, but it's not safe (doesn't check locking). Then there is also effort going on at FeedbackPlugin for a safer way of doing this.

Also check out FeedbackPluginDev and related, DataHandling. Too bad I don't have time to spend on TWiki lately frown
