TWiki Google Ranking

The "TWiki.org ranking" is defined as the position of the first twiki.org page (any one) showing up in a Google search. A ranking within 10 is excellent, e.g. twiki.org showing up in the first page of a Google search. Many terms are derived from actual search terms listed in the awstats.

We enjoy a good Google ranking. This can be attributed to many public TWiki sites pointing to TWiki, frequent page changes on TWiki.org, and carefully selected text on the TWiki home page. I have been quietly optimizing the home page over the last few month. The following search phrases list TWiki.org now on the first result page (as of 01 Sep 2005):

Some of these search terms are actually taken from the statistics.

In the fields of management, applications and tools, it could be : knowledge (KM), process (i.e : Business Process Management, Value Stream Management ..), IT and quality.

I'll second knowledge management. That is the work I'm in. Our plan is to use it for capturing tacit knowledge. Our KM department is part of the Process Management department so that fits too.

Above table started in TWikiAdvocacyDiscussions. It is interesting to see ranking changes over time.

I have been fine tuning the works on the twiki.org home page over time. Overall we have a good ranking thanks to many sites pointing to twiki.org. Useful search terms where twiki is currently not listed in the first pages are: document management, knowledge management and knowledge base.
