TWiki-Governance-Structure

Interim Executive Board

  • They draw all final decisions until the Governance structure is established.
  • It is their ultimate and most important task to make themselves obsolete.
  • Founds the association (executive body)
  • Deals with TWiki.net for getting the licence.
  • Deals with Peter Thoeny and makes sure, he does not fall back into the BDFL-role.
  • Responds to threats to TWiki.org as an open-source-project
  • Recommends a fork if they are convinced it is the right thing to do.
  • Handles paid help (legal advice, etc.)
  • Deals with donations and help from companies.
  • Is responsible to initiate a TWiki-Governance structure
  • The interim executive board is elected on the TWiki Summit on 2008/09/05 at 16.00 CET.
  • The board shall consist of a 5 members.

Roles of the Association

  • The foundation is responsible for politics, marketing and financial stuff.
  • It is responsible for recruiting programmers and contributors for the community.
  • It draws all final decisions in the community, if needed (tie-breaking).
  • Makes sure that charters and task teams evolve.

The operations council

  • The board of directors makes sure, that TWiki is the best wiki software available.
  • It is an operational body to develop the software.
  • It shall not be distracted by politics, marketing or financial stuff.
