Moved from PatternSkinDev

I'd like two more Web* topics: WebBottomControlBar (the per-web bar at the bottom containing Edit | Attach image or document | Printable version | Raw text | More topic actions Revisions: | r1.308 | > | r1.307 | > | r1.306 | Total page history | Backlinks ) and WebTopControlBar (containing Edit Attach Printable PatternSkinDev r1.308 - 27 Sep 2004 - 20:28 - ArthurClemens? topic end).

This would allow webs to be customised according their purpose: in some webs all those controls are simply not appropriate.

yes, that would allow more customisation; if you simply want to disable/hide the section use CSS to set display:none

-- WillNorris - 28 Sep 2004

Perhaps these should be variables that are generated automatically. The benefits I see are:

  1. They can be configured site wide for all skins. Thereby providing consistent actions in all skins and making sure new actions are automatically on all skins.
  2. Text could later be stored according to LocalizationFramework to make localization easier without affecting skin templates.
  3. Faster than topic includes?
  4. Could have plugin hooks to allow customization of the actionbars.

The obvious use for WebBottomControlBar and WebTopControlBar isn't to wholesale display:none them but to have them disabled until a authenticted user logs in.
