Proposed YouTube TWiki Testimonial/Demo Contest

Here are some concepts I would appreciate people's feedback on

• Goal- to have TWiki users share their success stories online
• Strategy- have a for $$$ contest
• Who can enter?- anyone
• Submissions- online to YouTube, and post a link on a TWiki Contest Page that could be mentioned on the TWiki.org homepage?
• Criterion- up to Marketing group, could be...
  • What do you love about TWiki?
  • Talk about how you have used it to achieve success in what you do
  • Talk about how you have built applications for your organization
  • Optional critierion: humor, creativity, etc.
• Who will judge the results? The TWiki Codev Marketing Team
• Voting mechanism- to be developed
• Prize money- TWIKI.NET is willing to sponsor the contest with $2,000 for first place, $750 for second and $500 for third, in exchange for link on announcements
• Communication possibilities for contest...
  • TWiki.org homepage?
  • Email to TWiki announcement list?
  • Viral email campaign from TWiki Marketing Team?
  • Press release?
  • Others?
• Timing of contest
  • Announce late October (after marketing plan is in place)?
  • 30 day time period? (is this enough)

I like the idea. We have been thinking of small screencasts as a supplemental help for new users in our company, which might not be the same, but also videos.

I guess the only question is... When? the proposal above says October 2007, so I guess it needs updating. We'd all like to know more
