Not sure who you're asking, but I first learned about wikis (IIRC) from Ward Cunningham's wiki -- then went searching for the "best" wiki, which I think currently is TWiki for my needs. This is not a completely accurate answer -- I was looking for a replacement for AskSam? in Linux, and don't recall exactly the steps I followed.

More and more people are learning about wikis.
