I set up an installation for Honeyee Robotics, a 23-person engineering firm located in New York City. We use the TWiki to:
Track engineering projects (Eng web)
Track project bids and technology development (Dev web)
Build an AddressBook (Addr web). This is one of the best features and lets us
Track what projects each AddressBook entry is associated with (via %SEARCH{...} %)
Hint: Use forms to structure most of your data, and keep notes on your contacts in the Edit part of the page
Build a knowledge base of company stuff (Know web)
There was significant resistance to the TWiki for many months from management and IT staff, but it was finally overcome. As soon as the engineers saw it they jumped right in! So maybe one approach if you cannot get official by-in, do a grassroots campaign.
Here is a graph of our TWiki usage after just a few weeks. I am interested to see when it will level off.
