Question

I have Twiki on Suse linux. After I retstarted apache 2, I cant edit my twiki pages . When I run ps -All , I see that there are edit processes which have become defunct. Same thing happens for Login also. What are these oops processes which beocome defunct too! Once it happens (Edit becomes defunct),Wiki becomes moribund and does not respond anymore.

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.

Problem was due to a wrong entry in httpd.conf file die to which apache was not able to find a file for logging. Though I still dont understaand why these oops processes on my server dont die down and are always present.

We currently have an open bug on this issue (Bugs:Item2494).

If you are able to provide detailed information on how you cured the error / how it can be reproduced, that would be very much appreciated.
