SID-01704: Embeding Navigation Bar Into Skin

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 5.1.3 Perl version:
Category: NavBarAddOn Server OS: RedHat Linux Last update: 10 years ago

I created a new Navigation Bar in the TWiki Web titled ' SiteNavBar ' , and I would like this bar to be in the skin for every web. I followed the instructions on NavBarAddOn topic and tried to put:

%INCLUDE{ "SiteNavBar" active="%IF{ "defined 'NAVBAR_ACTIVE_TAB'" then="%NAVBAR_ACTIVE_TAB%" else="%BASETOPIC%" }%" }%

into the TopMenuSkinTopBar topic in TWiki Web, but I did not know where to put it. I tried to place it after the final </script> and there was a large gap between the Nav Bar and the skin. I would like it to be to the right of my logo on the top left.

Discussion and Answer

You need to tweak the table that defines the layout. Here is an example layout for inspiration:

Add a new table cell & tweak the colspan and rowspan of other cells, then add the nav bar into the appropriate cell.
