Question

Hello,

I'm about to install my own TWiki. If Dakar is imminent (as in a release today--Apr 7 '05--tomorrow, or this coming weekend), I might wait to install and do a couple of other things before proceeding.

DakarRelease says "early 2005"...hence I was just wondering.

Please understand: I'm not trying to pressure anything, I'm just checking in to see if something is about to come down the pipe. If not, that's perfectly fine, and I'll proceed with my install of Codev.Ciaro (assuming my understanding of releases is correct).

I forgot to ask the continued-to-be-asked question: how can I be notified of a Dakar (or any) release when it happens? Do I have to poll TWiki.org all the time? (I suppose I could sign up to the notify-me-about-every-change-on-Codev mechanism--if it's working--but I doubt that is going to happen.)

I'll go post a note on DakarRelease to please email me when it gets released. Maybe I'll put my name in its InterstedParties, even though it technically does not work right now, just as a hopeful "placeholder" for someone to email me.

Answer

Dakar is still under development, and no release date set. There are bugs to be fixed, see DakarRelease.
