e2fsck: (Ext2 File System ChecK). A Linux program to check and optionally repair a Linux ext2 filesystem. See fsck.

There is more I'd like to learn about e2fsck (or other filesystem specific fsck programs). For example, does e2fsck "repair" a file the same way Microsoft does (at least sometimes) -- that is, delete it? See man e2fsck, and especially the p (preen) option.
