fdisk: This command " F ormats" your hard disk

  • Use only the fdisk that comes with the operating system that you are planning to install on that partition.
  • Usage: fdisk /dev/hd? (i.e. hda)
  • A Command (m for help): will greet you. By pressing m you can see a table of options.
  • p prints the partion information
  • q lets you exit without saving changes.
