Sound cards - Real-life experiences and annotations

LinuxAudio > Sound Cards

If anything is missing, misleading, or whatever, please correct it (this is a Wiki wink ).

Main sites to find documentation about your sound card

Linux driver support for your card:

I suggest this site should be only about documentation related to available features, software and configuration for each sound card supported under Linux. Above all I think it should be used to write conclusions about the LAU discussions.

We can use it also, to discuss problems about specific soundcards in the available forums, linked in each soundcard page or available at:

Sound card advice

And here, I think we should list all cards sorted by category...
suggestions about how to do it?
We can always do it manually...

  • home recording, low budget/high budget
  • professional recording, low budget/high budget
  • only audio professional recording
  • only MIDI professional recording
  • USB sound cards
  • Firewire sound cards
  • etc...

  • If you edit this page: add your name here; move this to the next line; and if you've used a comment marker (your initials in parenthesis), include it before your WikiName.
