I want to ensure that the page where these variables are defined is executed before any other page in the web is processed. How can I make this happen without including this page from every page in the web? [19:38] *** uebera|| has joined #twiki [19:42] *** uebera|| has quit IRC (Changing host) [19:42] *** uebera|| has joined #twiki [19:54] hi dipu_twiki [19:54] you could define the variable in the WebPreferences or Main.TWikiPreferrences [19:56] alternative 1: use %CALC{$SET()}% at the top of the page [19:56] alternative 2: use %SET{}% at the top of the page (provided by SetGetPlugin) [20:07] I want to set up a variable called USERID, which is a UID in the database, which I lookup using the TWiki login name. I tried to set it up in the WebPreferences, but found that unless I explicitly load the page, the variable remains undefined. Can I force the WebPreferences page to be processed at the start of a session? [20:08] BTW, Peter, Thanks for responding [20:15] We are able to handle the processing from within our web. But we are running into a problem during the Workspaces integration, since the list of projects on the PortalHome is supposed to be filtered by the user's permissions [20:40] I have solved this problem now by including the variables setup page from the PortalHome page.
