Tabmow: What's the best way of using code in a twiki page?
Ignatius: what kind of code?
Tabmow: Ignatius: it's mostly just commands and output from terminal windows... I don't want it to be formatted in any way basically..
Ignatius: oh, so you're after code formatting, rather than embedding the code in the page itself
or have I interpreted your needs completely wrongly?
Tabmow: nope, that's correct
Ignatius: Okay, everything you'll likely need for most text formatting is covered in this page http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/TWiki/TextFormattingRules
see the section on Verbatim Text
if that's not quite what you're after, you may want to look at http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Plugins/SyntaxHighlightingPlugin
Tabmow: Ignatius: I tried that... but it just comes out and displays as <verbatim> on the page...
Ignatius: hrm
I seem to remember having this issue before, but I can't remember how I resolved it
Tabmow: I went into the HTML and added the <verbatim> stuff and it looks ok now
Ignatius: ahah, wonderful
Tabmow: actually... all it did was just remove it completely... heh
Ignatius: heh
Tabmow: ohhh fixed it... I just selected the text and them selected Format --> Verbatim :)
Note to self, don't type <verbatim> :)
Ignatius: ahh, yes, you'd usually only put <verbatim></verbatim> in the raw text
silly of me not to think of that
anything else I may help with?
PeterThoeny: enter <verbatim> tag in raw edit
Tabmow: Cool, all working now - thanks.
I will look into that plugin also.
Ignatius: any time :)
