Session Start: Mon Oct 13 20:56:38 2008 Session Ident: #twiki_release [20:56] * Now talking in #twiki_release [20:56] * Topic is 'http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Codev/GeorgetownReleaseMeeting2008x10x13' [20:56] * Set by Babar on Mon Oct 13 08:42:03 [21:01] hi olivier, kenneth, oliver, sven markus [21:01] who is actually at the keyboard? [21:01] Hi Peter and who else is here live [21:01] hi kenneth, long time no talk [21:02] Yeah :-) [21:02] I have been so busy the past weeks at work [21:02] As a project manager you are most busy when projects are about to ship accept and at the same time you plan the new projects [21:03] [20:50] * uebera|| in "easy listening mode" again... leaving for TMRA08 tomorrow morning. ;) [21:03] i know what you mean :-) [21:03] Crawford has excused himself today for a good reason [21:03] best of luck with the product [21:04] kenneth, do you have time up upload 4.2.3 to sf and fix the download links? [21:05] Ah. Yes I can do that. I had forgotten all about it to be honest [21:05] 1/3 of downloads are directly from sf.net, they download the vulnerable version for a few weeks now [21:06] next time we should coordinate the release and follow the checklist [21:07] as you know, it's all documented at http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Codev/ProductionReleaseChecklist [21:07] Yep. You and are agree on that. [21:08] yes [21:08] seems like just 2 active people here [21:09] let's give it until +15 min, then cancel if not enough participants [21:09] I agree [21:11] * Soronthar has joined #twiki_release [21:11] hi rafael [21:11] Hi all [21:11] hi peter [21:11] Hi Raf [21:11] hi kenneth [21:11] markus is listening in, kenneth and i are actually here [21:13] * Lynnwood has joined #twiki_release [21:14] Hi Lynnwood [21:14] Greetings Lavr_ :-) [21:15] time check: +15 min [21:15] are we enough participants or shall we cancel the meeting? [21:17] There are no proposals that anyone have put forward for decision. [21:17] shall we make this meeting short, just coordinate the 4.2.4 release? [21:18] I am keeping an eye on the bug fixing of urgent bugs. We have a large backlog and few that fixes anything at the moment. [21:19] meaning we need a lot more bug fixing before the release? [21:20] I think some of the urgent ones are not as urgent as the reporter thinks. But there are a few. [21:20] do you want to list some? [21:20] There are also a good list of bugs fixed since 4.2.2 (4.2.3 only picked up the security issue) so I think we can release a 4.2.4 soon even if some urgent bugs are unfixed. [21:21] agreed [21:21] +1 [21:23] do you want to target a date for the 4.2.4 release? [21:24] It would be nice with a release maybe early November - mostly gated by my own time. I would like to test a little on my test server with the current code before I release anything [21:24] ok [21:25] * Babar is back at the keyboard :) [21:25] on phone... [21:25] hi * [21:26] I am a little pre-occupied on Sourceforge. Almost done [21:28] OK. 4.2.3 is now on SF. [21:28] Just need to fix download links now [21:30] ...back [21:31] thanks kenneth! [21:31] greatly appreciated [21:32] OK. All updated [21:34] shall we close the meeting? [21:34] yes I think we should [21:34] * FranzJosefGigler has joined #twiki_release [21:35] Hello Franz [21:35] You just arrive as we are about to end [21:35] will read the log :-) [21:37] * FranzJosefGigler has left #twiki_release [21:37] ok, thanks all [21:37] hopefully we get more participation next time [21:37] that was quick :) [21:39] Yes. It takes more participants and willingness to put your own proposals forward to make a longer meeting. [21:40] There are some very old proposals that are stuck and that I will park soon. And some new that are either going to get accepted by 14-day or consensus [21:41] There is potentially one that needs discussion next release meeting. The new access control proposal. It is only few days old and not ready for decision. [21:44] Just accepted the http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Codev/ThinPrefs by 14-day rule. This is a good 14-day one where there were good dialogue in the period. [21:45] http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Codev/AddSkinDirToTemplatePath is a 14-day candidate so review within the next days [21:46] Same with http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Codev/AddLoggingHandler [21:48] I have nothing further. Minutes are updated. And I will upload log now
