How to document Plugin Performance
Refactored out from
PackageForm. The following was put into the form definition:

As per
PerformanceWithManyPlugins, made performance testing a requirement.
On a separate note, Peter, would you care to comment on the last issues I raised?

This should be though out and discussed before we add those fields to the form. Issues:
- What is a good performance measure? An absolute value in sec makes sense for a single installation, but we have authors working on many different systems. Possibly a percent decrease in performance?
- What should be measured? Plugin installed / not installed? Topic containing / not containing Plugin tags? Both?
- Does it make sense to have the performance numbers only on the Plugins topic at TWiki.org or also on each site where the Plugin gets installed? For the latter, the numbers should go into the table in the Plugin topic text.
- The form is common for AddOnPackages, PluginPackages and SkinPackages. Having the PluginPerformanceUsed/Unused fields for all does not make sense.
I leave those questions open. Once decided we can enhance the
PackageForm or the
NewPluginTemplate.
On a side note, I find Martin's signature rather chatty, making it sometimes hard to see where the boundaries are between contributors.

Not only does it make reading topics harder, but I don't like seeing an INCLUDed signature used as a lobbying platform for whatever someone wants to bring attention to this week. It's raising oneself and ones opinion above the group and frankly I think it's having an adverse effect.
