Question

Hello,

I'm having a problem deleting topics.

If I want to delete a topic, I go to More Topic Actions at the bottom of the topic page.

Choosing this option works fine:

Delete topic..., looking for references in GeneralInfo web only - this works

(comes up with a confirmation page, then I can choose Delete, and it works)

BUT, if I choose this option: Delete topic..., looking for references in all public webs (recommended)

it sits there saying "Waiting for shipopswiki" in the status bar of the browser for a very long time (maybe even 10 minutes), then finally comes up with a 500 internal server error (sometimes just a blank page.) This happens with all topics I've tried to delete in this Wiki

The URL that appears is (topic name obviously changes when I try to delete a different topic):

http://shipopswiki/bin/rename/CrewServices/KathyTest?newweb=Trash&nonwikiword=on

And the server error (displayed in the browser) is: 500 Internal Server error ....and at the bottom: Apache/2.0.44 (Win32) mod_perl/1.99_08 Perl/v5.8.6 Server at shipopswiki Port 80

I looked thru the Apache logs (there was nothing in the Twiki log or in Event Viewer on the server), and I found this:

failed: Bad file descriptor[Mon Oct 22 17:45:45 2007] oops: Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at c:/shipopswiki/lib/TWiki/Store/SearchAlgorithms/Forking.pm line 72., referer: http://shipopswiki/bin/view/CrewServices/KathyTest

and then: [Mon Oct 22 18:50:52 2007] [error] [client 10.1.2.52] Premature end of script headers: rename, referer: http://shipopswiki/bin/oops/CrewServices/KathyTest?template=oopsmore&param1=1&param2=1

[Mon Oct 22 18:55:51 2007] [error] [client 10.1.2.52] c:\progra~1\GnuWin32\bin\grep.exe "-E" "-H" "--"

During the time it's processing, I can't see a whole lot of processor activity on the server, so I'm not sure what's happening.

I've recently upgraded from Cairo to 4.1.2. I did this with several Wikis, and this is the only one I have this problem with. So I must have done something strange with this one ...

Note: I did not actually perform an upgrade; I created a brand new server from scratch for the 4.12, and then just copied the data over from the old version. Everything else seems to work mostly fine.

There was only one thing I can think of that was different - in this wiki, I had a problem searching in webs which I had applied any kind of security on. I got an error saying the the file searchauth could not be found, so I went to the old server with Cairo on it, and copied it from the shipopswiki/bin folder to the new server. The searches worked fine after that.

The other wikis on this new server also have secured webs, but do not have the searchauth file. I am not sure why this one is special - maybe this is related to the problem?

Does anyone have any advice on where to start looking?

I've attached the configuration here.

I've tried this with both IE and Firefox, and on Vista, Windows XP and Windows 2000 pcs.

Thanks for your time!
