Question

In the step 1 of installation document, for "Test that the twiki/bin directory is CGI-enabled by trying visiting it in your browser", I tried with this url, http://127.0.0.1/twiki/bin/.

I am displayed with the following message:

Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster

Error 404

127.0.0.1 Thu 16 Dec 2004 06:16:14 PM IST Apache/2.0.40 (Red Hat Linux) .

Can anyone please specify what would be the problem with this?

Thanking you in advance.

Answer

There is likely something wrong with your apache configuration, a mistyped path for example. Check the apache error log and make sure the file paths specified in twiki/bin/setlib.cfg and twiki/lib/TWiki.cfg agree with the apache config for the twiki Directories and/or Virtual Host section.
