Question

I am trying to develop a twiki to keep order of a bunch of servers. To do that I created a form and attached that to a TopicEditTemplate. My problem is that it works just fine to populate some fields in the form using SEARCH to generate select-style selections from other topics, for example ServerLocation and OperatingSystem and such. The problem is that if I want to update the topic it does not remember the previous value for the dynamic fields and the everything is back to default.

Tried zillions of SEARCH's in the form itself to work around this but one problem is that I cnnot find any variable in the form itself to find out what topic the form is connected to so I can search the topic and cache the values somehow.(In the form TOPIC expands to the formname). Any ideas ?
