Question

What's the best way to create a forum using twiki ? For example, this support forum - is there a guide to how this was set up ?

Please reply even if it is a few lines, just to point me in the right direction - i.e. what's the concept and how do I start configuring things ?

Sorry if this question has already been answered, but I couldn't find anything.

Thanks vm

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

  1. Create a form definition topic: WebForm.
  2. Create a template topic: WebTopicEditTemplate.
  3. Add WebForm to WebPreferences' WEBFORMS setting.
  4. Edit WebTopicEditTemplate, and add the WebForm form to it.
  5. Create a topic to create new topics based on the template topic: AskedQuestions
  6. Create index topics that list topics of a certain type, status: AskedQuestions, AssignedQuestions, ...

Read details in TWikiForms and TWikiTemplates.
