Question

How to get quick information about updates to plugins on Twiki.org for plugins which I have installed on my intranet twiki?

I would appreciate a script (for example like "twiki/bin/configure") which I would run and it would inform me about plugin version I have installed and about available version on twiki.org for each of my plugins.

Does something like this exists? Or is such a functionality planned?

PS: I like the "check for updates" functionality in Firefox for example.

Environment

TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

For now you can subscribe to selected plugins in the Plugins.WebNotify topic.

Crawford is currently working on an improved configure script with web-based installation. Please bring your ideas to ExtensionInstaller.
