Question

I just installed the latest version of twiki on a windows based server. The only problem I am having with the setup is Under the Mail and Proxies section (specifically mail).

We use a site called register.com. Here is a link to setting up the SMTP: http://support.register.com/cgi-bin/register.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=554 Our domain name is intellevation.

I am guessing that under MAILHOST it should say mail.intellevation.net, but I am not sure about senderhost. Also under the link above it says that they require authentication, so what would the username and password be?

I want to set it up so that people can register with there work email that would be, for example, b.brown@intellevationPLEASENOSPAM.net. And send an email to that email from a set email example the.admin@intelevationPLEASENOSPAM.net.

So for example would: mailhost be mail.intellevation.net senderhost also mail.intellevation.net username the.admin password pword ? Because that isn't working?

Environment

Server OS: Windows 2003
Web server: Apache 2.0.48
Perl version: Perl 5.8.6

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

I never got it working. If anyone figures out my problem tell me, but there are sever smtp programs that you can just run on your server that will pick it up. http://www.softstack.com/freesmtp.html then just set the ip for twiki to localhost:port if you use the program there is a link to with the default settings then it is localhost:25.
