Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

How do you tell that your attempts have been unsuccessful?

twiki.org, by the way, does not have this feature since it is using ApacheLogin. Just log in, then log out, and then edit a topic. You will not be asked to log in, but your login name will show up in the signature.

For the Twiki I have installed on my server -pressing the Log Out link does nothing.

BTW - How do I setup a user authentication using MySql? Do you have links to pages where I can get this information?

The easy way to do MySQL authentication (unless you want to write a Login manager for TWiki) should be to select the Apache login manager in bin/configure and use Apache's documentation, starting at either http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/howto/auth.html#database (for Apache 1.3) http://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/mod/mod_authn_dbd.html (for current Apache. Sorry, I have tried neither).

Thank you for answering my query Harald. I probably need to build my own login manager
