Question
Using the dead standard VM downloadable from the TWiki web site, I tried to install the
MailerContrib plugin to enable notification. I unzipped it via Samba into the directories and ran the installer script and got a compile error. I did nothing to this VM except start it up before I did this installation, so it has only the delivered plugins.
Does this mean that notification is not possible using the supplied VM? I am not very LINUX-literate, so it may be finger trouble on my part.

If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.
The
MailerContrib is pre-installed. You should not have needed to download an re-install it.
Having said that, the installer script simply resolves dependencies. So
- Ignore the
MailerContrib_installer.pl script
- Manually satisfy the dependencies listed in the MailerContrib topic
and you should be hot to trot. I will investigate the error when I get a chance.

I am receiving emails from the VM (for example, the logcheck program), but I still don't see anything being sent to me for changes on the web. I have modified the webnotify pages of several web with my wiki name and email address (following the example that was in the template). I have found no logs with error messages. I see things fly by when I run mailnotify suggesting that it has identified new things and no error messages appear to be there (I examined the entire output by omitting -q and using more). I know this is a shot in the dark, but does anything mentioned so far suggest any areas to check?
Once again, apologies for being a beginner on this.
