SID-00173: RSS Feed Invalidated by View Permission

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 4.2.4 Perl version: Perl 5.8.8
Category: CategoryAccessControl Server OS: Ubuntu 8.04 Last update: 16 years ago

Is RSS Feed linked to View Permission? The Feed for the TWiki web in my site validates but the feed for the Main web & another called DrhPractice do not validate. The Main web has a view permission setting for "allow" a group and the DrhPractice site has a view permission set to "deny" Twikiguest. Will these permission settings keep RSS Feeds from being valid? Thanks. Scott

Discussion and Answer

Yes, that is correct. TWiki currently asked for login if one of the pages has a view access restriction. This breaks the RSS and ATOM feeds.

Proper fix is to add a context such as "do not login" to the WebRss and WebAtom feeds so that view access restricted pages are ignored. Could you file a bug to track that?
