SID-00526: Unable to open the page "AdminToolsCategory" from Admin user login

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 4.3.1 Perl version: 5.8.8
Category: CategoryError Server OS: Redhat Linux 5.3, Kernel 2.6.18 Last update: 16 years ago

Hi,

I have just went through all the procedure and installed the TWiki and its working. For some time all are working and have no issue. But strangely I have come accross this issue. The page in the TWiki Web topic called "AdminToolsCategory" does not open from any Admin user login even from admin user. But if i browse as guest (That is without login) its works and I can see the contents of this web page.

When I login as Admin user and try to open this page i get the following error:

"TWiki detected an internal error - please check your TWiki logs and webserver logs for more information. RCS: path -h %FILENAME|F% of ...path,v failed: "

Can any body help me out to resolve this issue... Any work around for this

Thanks in advance.

Discussion and Answer

Hi All, Just a follow up... I created new login user and assigned him as TWiki Administrator as I could not understand why the above problem was occuring to the old TWiki Admin Login.

I resolved by creating new Login User for TWiki Admin and its working fine...

Hi All, I dont understand this. The newly created Login User which was working fine til recently is giving me the same problem as stated above for the first login. Its again happening with the topic "AdminToolsCategory".

Error in the browser:

TWiki detected an internal error - please check your TWiki logs and webserver logs for more information. RCS: path -h %FILENAME|F% of ...path,v failed:

I have made this login as Admin login. It is strange that it is not allowing to view this topic and few other related topics for Admin Login !!!!. From other login I am able to view and do the work. Can anybody solve this or any work around for this kind of problem... Because, I dont want to change the TWiki Admin login frequently.

Thanks again.

Hi,

By installing once again.. will this help? Like untaring the TWiki-4.3.1.gz (under /var/www/twiki)

By performing re-installing, will the existing webs and topics gets erased?

Because the TWiki setup was working fine after the installation only recently I am facing this kind of issue. So, thought of re-installing the TWiki.

Kindly help me out...

Thanks

Any solution??? What is the meaning of the error mesasge:

TWiki detected an internal error - please check your TWiki logs and webserver logs for more information.
RCS: path -h %FILENAME|F% of ...path,v failed:

And there is no such errors in the apache error logs.

But I notice only one error, probably not related to this problem:

[Wed Oct 21 12:02:51 2009] [error] [client xxx.xx.xx.xx] [Wed Oct 21 12:02:51 2009] view: Use of uninitialized value in substitution iterator at /var/www/twiki/lib/TWiki/Render.pm line 515., referer: http://xxx.xx.xx.xx/twiki/bin/view/TWiki/WebHome

Pls guide me.

Thanks

I also get this error message but only with TwikiGuest users. I'm running 4.3.2.

I've been looking at this issue a little more. It seems the error is perhaps occurring if RcsLIte was every used, or perhaps if the file was edited on a windows box and moved to a Unix one. Another site talks more about this issue here: Question42. It could be the topic .txt and .txt,v contain CRLF

Subhash, you said you checked the apache logs, but did you check your twiki logs?

I was having a similar problem, but found in our warn200910.txt log the error below. It turns out for us I had installed the StopWikiWordLinkPlugin, and it was causing the conflict. I disabled the plugin and then had no more issues.

"| 2009-10-31 - 10:35 | RCS: /inusr/bin/rlog -h %FILENAME|F% of .../TWiki/StopWikiWordLinkPlugin.txt,v failed: at /twikidata/twiki/li b/TWiki/Store/RcsWrap.pm line 276."

I had another chance to look at this. I deleted the .../TWiki/StopWikiWordLinkPlugin.txt,v file and all is working now. I guess there was an unfriendly RCS character or something in one of the older versions.

Closing, seems to be answered.
