I'm new to Twiki, but have been tasked with moving a twiki web from a W2k/Apache 2.2/ActivePerl 5 server and placing it on an exisiting twiki server running fedora 8/Apache 2.0.61/Perl 5.8.8. The Linux server already has an active Twiki web on it, so this a consolidation exercise. however i'm not sure how I go about moving the w2k data so that it doesn't interfere with what already exists. I've also not found any answers on how to transfer from w2k to linux. Is it just a case of copying selected files? Are there any dangers in trying to run 2 seperate webs on the same server?
PS I've posted this as guest as I'm still waiting for the verificvcation code following completing the regestration form yesterday.

Discussion and Answer
The files are compatible, simply copy over the whole web. There is always a pair, for example for a web called
Helios you need to copy
twiki/data/Helios/ and
twiki/pub/Helios/ over to the other server. Make sure to fix the file/group ownership to be owned by the webserver user, such as
apache.apache. For TWiki releases prior to 4.0 you need to unlock the
RCS files as documented in
TWikiUpgradeGuide
Send me an e-mail if you have a registration issue.

Thanks Peter. I had to wait for the owner of the windows twiki to change the name of his web as it was the same as one on the exisiting linux machine, but the transfer seems to have worked a treat now.
