I've just started to configure my twiki site, and am presented with the link,
To become an administrator you need to first register as a normal user first and then add your wikiname to the
TWikiAdminGroup (follow the text in yellow).
Both the register link, and the
TWikiAdminGroup link's point to bin/view/... and those pages do not exist.
I have the download, TWiki-5.0.0.zip, and that doesn't have the directory /twiki/bin/view either.
With the help of my tech support, they got it so that I could run the configure.pl page. I ran the configure up through getting all the basic stuff configured, and all warnings / errors resolved. Now I'm trying to follow the next part and register, but there is no page at the link given.

Discussion and Answer
The
/view is a script, not a directory. The webserver runs the script, and uses the part after
/view to figure out the TWiki web and topic.
Installing TWiki on Windows using IIS is possible but relatively difficult. I suggest to run the VMware distribution of TWiki on WIndows, see
TWikiVMDebianStable. This is based on an older TWiki release. For production deployment I recommend using the latest TWiki release 5.0.0, it is rock solid.

Well I'm closer now. I changed scriptSuffix to .pl here,
$TWiki::cfg{ScriptSuffix} = '.pl';
And now the page runs, and I register, but the email failed to send, and says you are not registered.
Onwards.
