As of last week, I've been asked to improve our own TWiki (version 5.+).
Thus far I have been able to embed the webleftbar in the pages due to editing from the TWiki itself. Meaning I have it manually included in all the pages, open for users themselves to remove it anytime they want...
Now I've been diving into the documentation, the blogs and the Q&A pages, but i've been unable to find how I can make the sidebar (webleftbar) a fixed item in all the pages of our TWiki. My intuition tells me that I should change the
MasterTemplate for that, but I have somehow been unable to do so successfully...
Could you please give me a heads up on how I can make the sidebar on all pages like this one?

Thank you for the fast answer Peter! It worked like a charm. This has been a real pain, and finding the answer in such a short notice is great!
