SID-01727: Registration Issue

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 5.1.4 Perl version: 5.0
Category: CategoryAuthentication Server OS: RedHat 5.0 Last update: 13 years ago

I run TWiki 5.1.4 and everything works except registration. I have not experienced this issue before. People register, an E-mail is sent with the registration value (Twikiname####) and when they input the registration value in the requested area as noted by the window that opens when they put in their reistration information, they get an error message that the value was incorrect. I tried it myself and I get the same message. How do I correct this? its causing problems on my Web site.

Discussion and Answer

Not sure. Check the permissions of twiki/data, twiki/pub and twiki/working. Everything needs to be owned by the webserver user, recursively.

Also, make sure you have a twiki/working/registration_approvals directory. In that directory you should see files such as JimmyNeutron.22469748.

Yes, it turned out to be a permission issue. As usual. Also, I am consistently getting hacked by some or someone from Australia. Thanks for the help.
