SID-01729: Creating a working readonly mirror

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 5.0.0 Perl version: 5.8.8
Category: CategoryDeployment Server OS: CentOS 5.7 Last update: 12 years ago

We recently had machine failure that knocked out our Twiki installation in our intranet. I'm considering in creating a secondary machine to have a live backup of our main Twiki site. However, I'm not sure what directories to copy over or if it is safe to simply copy everything.

Discussion and Answer

Yes, copying the whole /var/www/twiki directory tree is a safe way to maintain a live backup. On CentOS I recommend to backup also /etc, /var/spool/cron/ and /root.
