SID-01865: Where did do come from?

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 5.1.1 Perl version:
Category: CategoryInstallation Server OS: Linux Last update: 11 years ago

I have a client who used the Apache config generator. http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/TWiki/ApacheConfigGenerator

I was Very surprised to see

ScriptAlias /do "/var/www/html/twiki/bin"

Why "do"? That's going to confuse people who actually know how TWiki works. Why not "bin"?

Where did "do" come from?

Discussion and Answer

The /do/view might confuse administrators, but it is more logical for the end users, as in "do something" / emphasizing a verb. Such as "go ahead, view this page", emphasized "go ahead, do view this web page" aka /do/view/Web/Page. A "bin view this page" is incomprehensible for non-technical users.

COuld you update the config generator to include a comment to that effect so that when an admin is looking at the Apache config this makes more sense?
