SID-02236: Is it possible for a topic to contain more than one form?

Silly question, perhaps, but can you have more than one form, each with its own set of form fields, on a single topic?

Discussion and Answer

Hi Larry, an excerpt from TWikiForms suggests only one form can be attached to a topic at a time.

"Many different form types can be defined in a web, though a topic can only have one form attached to it at a time."

Correct, a TWiki topic can have only on form. You can however define multiple forms that share some of the field names. With this you can search topics with different forms as long as you search for fields that are common to those forms.

When I questioned the reason why someone wanted a second form, and got into the details, it quickly became obvious it was a really bad design idea that should not have been done even if one COULD have multiple forms on a topic! Thanks for responding.
