SID-02396: How to set the value of REMOTE_USER variable in Twiki

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 6.0.1 Perl version: 5
Category: CategoryAuthentication Server OS: Redhat Linux 6.5 Last update: 6 years ago

Hi,

We have a twiki application and we have to migrate it to Web SSO and now twiki is not working as it is not getting REMOTE_USER variable. I can't send it thru the new SSO solution as it takes it as HTTP_REMOTE_USER and it's of no use to twiki. Can we set the REMOTE_USER = HTTP_REMOTE_USER(which has the user id ready) in Twiki? That would solve the problem.

Thanks

Discussion and Answer

This is untested, but it could be as easy as adding this in your twiki/lib/LocalSite.cfg:

$ENV{REMOTE_USER} = $ENV{HTTP_REMOTE_USER};

Hi did the above work?

If you are using shibboleth is REMOTE_USER correctly set in

/etc/shibboleth/shibboleth2.xml
