Question

I'm new to Linux and having a tough time deciding how to handle the file/directory permissions in my TWiki installation. It works fine, but I feel my permissions aren't 100%. Is a list of chmod and chown commands to run during (or after) install available? There's no mention of the -R parameter, but I think I should have used it.

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiRelease01Feb2003
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS: Redhat Linux 7.3, kernel 2.4.18-3
Web server: Apache/1.3.27 (Unix) (Red-Hat/Linux)
Perl version: 5.6.1
Client OS: Redhat Linux 7.3
Web Browser: Mozilla 1.0.2

Answer

Yes you need to use -R, see TWikiInstallationGuide. The wording in that section is awkward, take the time to read it carefully, especially the example script, and you should do all right.
