Question
I'm not receiving any alerts from the WebNotify facility at twiki.org.
I've tried changing my email a few times, to see if it might be a local mail-configuration issue, but that didn't seem to fix the problem.
So I'm curious if there is a problem with the mail service or cron job at twiki.org at the moment - am I the only unlucky fellow, or are you in the same position?

Answer
Outgoing mail originating from web servers is blocked at
SourceForge, where TWiki.org is hosted. That is the reason why notify does currently not work.

Awww, that sucks. Thanks for clearing up the issue.

I took the liberty of asking sourgeforge.net about this issue in their support-forum. In their opinion, there is a way for mail to be sent from twiki.org - quote: "We allow mail to be sent from pr-web".
I would like your opinion on this - is there yet another technical limititation beyond this issue, or does this in any way clear up things?
The full issue history is at
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200001&aid=1004450&group_id=1
. If you can provide any log or debug information from the mail subsystem to clarify the issue, it might bring up something?
I'm guess I'm just a bit eager to see the notifications working again

Let's see if this works. I set SMTPMAILHOST = pr-web.sourceforge.net in
TWiki.TWikiPreferences#Email_and_Proxy_Server_Settings. If that does not work I will try localhost.

I just read
TWikiOnSourceForge, in which there is a link to
http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=6695&group_id=1
("SourceForge.net: Email Problems: Spam, Bounces, Unreceived Messages"). Does this provide any hints?
On the side: Are any of the mails returned to a recognizable account, that can be emptyed - and if yes, do they contain any debugging/tracing information?

I tried several different things without luck. I am not going to spend more time on this since we are moving TWiki.org to a dedicated server.

That makes sense - thanks for your effort anyway
