Question

I want to run my TWikis on SourceForge. Can you please explain what the problem is going to be to get Email notification to work?

Thanks, M.

Answer

This is beyond our control. SourceForge upgraded the hardware, and with that they reconfigured many things. The problem is that sendmail does not work on the shell server. Here is the SR I filed on 09 Dec 2000: http://sourceforge.net/support/?func=detailsupport&support_id=109557&group_id=1 . What the #*&^#%@, now I see that they closed the request! Could you file a request on behalf of your project? May be they move if more then one person complains wink

Hmm. Might be something different going on. When new people come to my site I get notified. Anything else and I don't.

Notification of user registration always worked, e.g. sendmail on the load balanced web servers does work.

However, sendmail does not work on the shell server, where the cron jobs for notification of changes are running. Wait, I just noticed that notification of changes works again. But this is only because SourceForge temporarily switched to a backup shell server. Hope that they fix the main shell server soon. I am almost giving up the game of opening a support request, have it closed without a solution, reopen a new one, ....
