1. Action Item Review
-
Kenneth to follow up with Crawford on the SimpleFieldQueriesInMETASEARCH
- Reading the history of the topic it was clear that Crawford was the committed driver but the application was new then so I just added Crawford on his own proposal.
-
Peter to quickly follow up with spec proposal on SimpleFieldQueriesInMETASEARCH
- Peter: Create a TWikiBetaTesting topic in Codev, with info for beta testers.
- Need to do this before next release. Need to recruit beta testers.
2. Review Proposed Features
- AddGlobalSettingToAllowNonWikiWords Add global setting to allow non-WikiWords
- All in favour but the proposal is only 2 days old so people should have a chance to see it. Will most likely be accepted.
- AddTWikiAdminUser Adding a default twiki admin user with password defined in configure
- Still a positive oppinion to the principle but the spec still needs to be better defined (not the code implementation but the functionality seen from the admin user or installer that wants to become an admin user). No decision yet.
- CreateHomeWebVariable Create HOMEWEB variable as distinct from MAINWEB
- Many good proposals but we feel that Lynnwood as proposer should have a chance to give his views on the proposal topic so decision deferred.
- TopicCaseSensitivity URL's that have correct spelling, irrespective of case will goto that topic.
- Only concern left is a clear spec. It is very likely that with a spec the proposal will be accepted by consensus unless the spec reveals new surprising issues.
- UseIsoDates Use ISO Dates
- Kenneth takes the action to re-write the proposal for a renewed decision round. Current proposal has no chance to be accepted.
3. Release Schedule of TWiki Release 4.2
- Desired outcome: Decide code freeze date
There are still features that developers feel should be included. It was evaluated that 1-2 weeks should be allowed for the most urgent to be implemented. Proposers with accepted proposals that will be deferred to TWiki 5 (
GeorgetownRelease) changes the field
ProposedFor to
GeorgetownRelease to signal that we do not need to consider waiting for an implementation for 4.2.0.
The plan is now
- Feature freeze (last day to checkin new features): Monday 21 May 2007 at the start of the release meeting.
- Beta release: 03 Jun 2007
- Earliest release date (can be delayed if too many bugs are open or tests fail): 09 Jun 2007
Action Items
- All Proposers with accepted proposals: Update ProposedFor field in accepted proposals (not yet implemented) to GeorgetownRelease if they will not be ready for feature freeze date.
- Kenneth: UseIsoDates: Kenneth takes the action to re-write the proposal for a renewed decision round. Current proposal has no chance to be accepted.
- Sven: TopicCaseSensitivity: Sven to clarify the spec
- Sven: AddTWikiAdminUser: Sven to clarify the spec
- Peter: Create a TWikiBetaTesting topic in Codev, with info for beta testers.
- Need to do this before next release. Need to recruit beta testers.
