I've just made the first release of Morcego, a java applet to make topic maps in 3D. You can see it at http://morcego.arca.ime.usp.br/.

It's already integrated in TikiWiki on latest cvs head, I would be very happy to see it in other wikis too. To do so you just need to implement one method in an XMLRPC server. I hope you enjoy :-).

Sounds interesting, but when I try and go to the demo (http://c3po.kriconet.com.br/morcego/) I get an error "Proxy Error. The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request GET /morcego/. Reason: Could not connect to remote machine: Connection refused."

c3po.kriconet is my personal PC, I've already moved it to a dedicated server. Try http://morcego.utopia.com.br/.

Sounds promising. When I click on the X icon an empty small window pops up with a wait cursor. I let it wait several times for minutes at a time. This is with IE 6.0.

Could you try http://morcego.utopia.com.br/tiki-wiki3d.php?page=HomePage ? This is the url in the popup, loading it directly should show some error message at status box. This is my first java software and I'm still figuring out what does it depend on.

It also hangs. After I changed my cookie preferences to accept cookies instead of asking for, I get this in the status bar: exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundExecption: java.awt.image.BufferedImage. Possibly something wrong with my Java engine.
