Following
PeterThoeny's statement on
OfflineWiki on 19 Apr 2000.
I've had some thought towards creating a generic access wiki interface. Initially the best use for this would email submissions.
However, this could expend the interface to WAP and gopher. Obviously this would require a lot more work on the
ModularizationAndCommonTwiky side of things. Furthermore, the underlying data storage structure would definitely need to be more complex.
TWikiXML file format is definitely the way to do.

For some people even the wiki grammar is too complicated. It would be nice to have a special Wiki-Client, maybe something like lyx (
http://www.lyx.org
), or a java plug-in.

See
HtmlAreaEditor and related pages - this is a
WYSIWYG editor for TWiki's
WikiML markup. There are also people who've done work on
XmlRpc interfaces to TWiki, see
WebServices.
