I was flabbergasted to find that replacements made in the OutsidePREHandler affect the page not only for the topic content but also for the headers and footers etc. What test can I make in that routine to ensure that I only do my replacements inside the topic content?

I've had problems with this too. I would like to be able to only work with the %TEXT%, not worrying about how my cuistom rendering rules might impact the skin's template.

The getRenderedVersion handler strips out HTML header, but renders text for skins and topic text.

Skin or topic text, that information is currently not available.
