Being able to set properties using "* Set xxx = yyy" works fairly well. But, it's not that obvious to occasional users. How about also letting be properties be set using the FormTemplateSystem?

Alterations required:

• A flag to say which form fields are properties e.g. add +prop to the form definition page.
• Properties code to pick out such field from meta data, as well as the current format.

Good idea! Would help to make TWiki usage a bit more friendly. One thing that would really help the average user in this area would be to also hide the personal page's preference settings - this is the only case in which TWiki mixes preferences and content on the same page, and it makes this page feel less like a typical web home page.
