Hmm with the TWiki running here on 18 Jan 2002, verbatim gobbles the backslash at the end of the line. Example:
Here are three lines of
verbatim text with a | and \
at the end of a line. Why a \ I discovered this with ascii art.
Note it is only on two lines and the \ after the "| and" is gone.
Here is another example of an ascii art depiction of an SSH tunnel operation.
ssh client |---+----------+---| VNC server (6001)
VNC (5900) |--/ \--<-| forwarded port (5950*) |--\
\-<| VNC client
There is a third line in the above example use ?raw=on" to see it.
I can't make it display like I want in this TWiki. I was able to
make it work by putting a . after the \ ending the second line in a 01Dec2001 TWiki I have.
The second line should have the \ lining up to meet/dock
with the + in the first line. The spaces in the verbatim environment seem to be getting converted into tabs and screwing up the alignment.
Its correct as I type it in now, but when I edit it, I will probably have to remove some tabs.
