If it is an free licence, can the english translators put on the web to an group of Brasil translate for our portuguese?

Unfortunately, our book is not published under a free license, Springer holds all the copyrights . We like the idea, though, of an portuguese translation. There's good news: our publisher has indicated that it is possible to do a free tranlsation into Portuguese. We are now waiting to get this permission in written form (play it safe...).
