We use TWiki to plan and coordinate activities and projects around the house. It is unbelievably helpful in planning things such as:
- Animal feedings and medications
- Chores
- Room renovations/re-arrangements
- Events
- Pickups and deliveries
- Operating instructions
- Tracking bloodlines for breeding
Also, while away, it allows us to dial in or use an internet cafe to:
- Examine and critique renovation ideas * Examine and critique animal movements between fields
- Optimize travel schedules
- Instructions for the housesitter (which always seem to change in minor ways).
All the things a working farm household does.
We used to use email, but it was hard to keep track when people change their minds (or loose them). Plus, TWiki gives everyone a "heads up" notice whenever someone even
starts to think about moving things around.
And we've started thinking about letting our friends and neighbors "in" so they can take care of pets when we're suddenly called away.
