I think that the last 3,5 years have proven that, at least in the context of the activities hosted on wikihip, using the wiki-concept has been a successful experiment. In fact it has been so successful, that I think some parts of the contents of this site are structured enough to be moved to a more controlled environment (with the exact same features that prevented the transfer of knowledge in 2000, like document life cycles, metadata, hierarchical structure etc). The ability of a wiki-system to be able to facilitate - in a geographically distributed collaboration - the reaching of this level of common understanding has been something of a pleasant surprise. And this definitely doesn't mean that I consider wikihip to be obsolete now - there will be no shortage of chaos in the world...
